Bulgarian Folk Dance Party
Start Date: 11/8/2009Start Time: 7:00 PM
End Date: 11/8/2009End Time: 11:00 PM
Event Description
Come to a Bulgarian folk music and dance party on campus! "Lyuti Chushki," which translates in English as "Hot Peppers," is a combination of professional musicians from Bulgaria and American musicians from the Washington, D.C. area. They have been playing together at numerous festivals, weddings, concerts, and special events since 1997.

Beautiful singer Tzvety Weiner is going to reveal the magic of the Bulgarian vocal style. The talented musicians Larry Weiner, Valeri Georgiev, Varol Saatcioglu, Len Newman and Bruce Sagan are going to intruduce us to the toe-tapping music, played on traditional instruments from Bulgaria, which takes you back to the old country — it is joyful, evocative, compelling and lyrical, in modes and rhythms generally not found in western music.

Come have fun and learn more about Bulgarian culture, music, and dances. Also, don't miss on traditional Balkan food and refreshments!!!
